It's a... [Give him a second to take a proper look of his bird, whom will be making "craaa" noises in the background.] Mynah bird, I believe. The ones that live at the hills of the countryside of Japan.
By any chance, do you recognize the species? I can sent you a picture, if you like? [Because some people didn't recognize the bird when he asked about it in the network.]
I... I think I read a little about them when I was looking up hummingbirds to care for Kiri. I don't remember much, but... I think, if we can look up the books again, we might be able to find something. They were all at the library.
How wonderful! I'm glad to hear you have some knowledge over the topic.
[He really is glad because he has no idea what to do. Well, researching at the library would be a good way to begin.]
Visiting the library sounds like a good place to begin. I should have thought of it... [But he didn't because he is more concerned with finding out if the owner's bird was really from his master or not.] Do you perhaps remember the books you read? [And.] ...is it really easy to look after a winged pet? Do you have trouble looking after Kiri-san? [He's still nervous over looking after a pet.]
I don't really remember the books... it was such a long time ago. But I think if we can find a book about Myna birds, it should help you figure out how to feed it at least. Different birds eat all sorts of different things - my Kiri actually lives mostly on sugar water.
I think the most important things to know are what to feed them and how much space they need, so... if we just look up books about them in the library, we're sure to find something about it sooner or later!
It sounds as though research and collecting data are your areas of expertise. Am I wrong to believe this?
[As for the rest.]
It is fortunate that Murai-san -- the Myna bird -- arrived to this world in his own cage. I only need to learn of its nutrition, potential health problems to avoid, grooming, important items that he needs, and his lifespan. I'm certain it will not be too difficult to find. [Especially.] Will you accompany me to the library, Hibiki-san? I am unfamiliar with Odin's library as I rarely visit it. [He actually buys books more than borrows them.]
Er-- I wouldn't say that! Umm, rather... I'm not very good at learning, so I have to look everything up and write it all down.
[And even that takes forever.]
I can come with you to the library, though! I know where all of the books on birds are, but I'm not sure about Myna birds. I think we can just ask someone who works there to help us find those.
Are you certain? I've heard many wonderful comments about you. Aladdin-san and Leonardo-san spoke very highly of you. I do believe Leonardo-san mentioned your findings over creating melon bread by using the runes. I do believe it is an amazing discovery. [And he does mean that.]
Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate it as someone with very knowledge over the library's system. Hopefully we'll find the needed information without any trouble. [After all, he wouldn't want to unnecessarily waste her day and all.] When would you like to visit the library with me?
U-um... It wasn't anything special. It's-- actually a pretty silly spell...
[Aaah, this is embarrassing. But she tries to pull herself together.]
I... I usually have work during the day, but if it's after 3PM I can go to the library with you! I have to make dinner too, but we should still have about three hours.
But it's a one spell more that you know more than I do. [And.] It isn't any old spell neither. It's one you created using your own two hands. I believe it is very impressive feat. I do not believe I have what it takes to do the same.
[As for the rest.]
Thank you very much. 3PM will be perfect. I should be finished tutoring the students by then. Three hours of research should be more than enough if we work together to find the necessary information. [And really, he can't stress this enough.] Thank you very much for your help. I truly appreciate it, Hibiki-san.
Perhaps. [But then again.] As I hold no knowledge over the other type of magic this world has to offer, it would be rather difficult to try and create anything. A melon bread spell is rather unique. How long does it usually take for one to summon it?
[Somehow he imagined the melon bread appearing like a summon would like in video games..]
If it's just learning the circle itself, I don't think that will be so bad... It's just memorizing, then.
[Of course, with more complex circles, it would be more important to understand fully what you were writing for ease of writing, but if it's just melon bread...]
Maybe we can meet another day for that? It would be best if we could practice it at the magic guild so we could use the paint and everything!
That sounds like a wonderful idea. I haven't been in the magic guild before. It would be an honor to learn from you another time. Please do let me know beforehand when you would like to work on it, I don't want to miss the chance to do so.
[Making melon bread by using magic sounds like fun. He really wouldn't want to miss the chance for it.]
If there isn't anything else, I'll meet you at the library to find the books needed for Murai-san's care. Is there anything you would like for me to bring along? A drink? Snack you most preferred? I would like to treat you as my way to offer my gratitude for your kindness.
[She may have been a teacher at home, but even here it's clear she has little idea on how to go about that particular business.]
You don't have to do anything in exchange! I just like to help people, and runic magic is something I happen to know about, so... I like telling people about it, that's all!
[He can already tell she is a very good girl. It almost gave him urge to pat the top of her head for it. A rare feeling as he normally doesn't.]
You're a earnest and very thoughtful young lady. It's wonderful to have been given the chance to meet you. I will look forward to it.
[And he does mean that.]
I'll repay the favors by having you try my first successful summoned melon bread. It's only fair for the one teaching me to try it before the student. Does it sound like an even trade?
[Remaining calm and accepting his compliments or else Soushi will continue to flatter her because he finds her reactions to be adorable. He wonders if Ririchiyo's daughter would act the same as Hibiki, if she ever had one with him. The thought made him very happy...]
If that is the case, then I look forward in learning the proper way to create them.
[Then he decides it might be best to end the call before he takes too much of her time or before she faints from all the flailing. He can't have her faint before helping him.]
Thank you again. I appreciate your time and assistance over the matter of research in pet care and runes. I'll let you go. I'm certain you have much to do before the meeting time...?
[Remaining calm is practically impossible for this girl under such circumstances, unfortunately. She does, however, make an admirable attempt at recovering!]
Ah-- yes! I'll meet you at the library then, and we can figure out what to do for your Murai-san!

It's no problem at all! In that case, I'll meet you at the front of the library at 3!

Yes. I'll see you then.

[Part of the reason she made it was so it would be convenient for anyone who needed a quick snack...]
audio; (wow. sorry for the late reply, i just found this in my spam box. 8|)
[Because it is convenient. He would like to learn to summon food too.]

I-I'm really not...
[Now she's flustered!]
Um... I don't mind eating it if you really want me to! The ones the spell makes are really good, and I'm sure you'll do just fine!

Very well. As you wish. I'll look forward to it. Thank you, and it was wonderful to speak with you today.
I'll see you soon.
